UCLA Admission Requirements

Although UCLA’s acceptance rate is higher than some of the top colleges featured on College Admissions 100, it is still a highly competitive college – only 1 in 5 applicants can expect to receive an offer.

UCLA’s selection process is holistic. It takes into account the applicant’s achievements inside and outside of the classroom.

While standardized test scores and GPA are among the indicators of academic ability that UCLA considers, they are not all that matters.

Every UCLA applicant must submit a personal statement. UCLA values for these statements for their ability to provide admissions officers with a greater understanding of applicants.

UCLA advises that the best personal statements will “reflect your perspectives” and will not needlessly repeat things you have said in other parts of the application.
