Cornell Admission Requirements
Cornell avoids rigid formulae in its admissions process, and acknowledges that the process can be “very subjective.”
What does Cornell hope to find in its successful applicants? A priority for Cornell is the applicant’s high school transcript – which is assessed in context of how tough the applicant’s program was.
Application essays provide Cornell with crucial information about who you are as a person, and so Cornell views these as essential parts of the admissions process.
Test scores – such as SATs – are taken into account, but Cornell advises applicants that these do not play as much of a role as many applicants believe.
Clearly, it will be in applicants’ interests to tell Cornell as much as they can about who they are through their application, and to bring out their own individuality and enthusiasm for learning.
