Berkeley Admission Requirements
The admissions process at Berkeley is quite systematic. Berkeley describes the process as involving its admissions officers analyzing applicants’ files to determine a “comprehensive score.” Along the way, applications are checked several times. Berkeley claims that the admissions process is “highly reliable,” and it regularly runs tests to ensure that it remains a reliable endeavor.
Aside from academic performance, Berkeley takes into account an applicant’s personal attributes such as leadership skills, motivation, responsibility and maturity. Successful applicants will tend to have pursued activities that challenge and enrich them.
As a member of the University of California, Berkeley gives preference to residents of the state, and seeks especially to educate individuals who will go on to contribute to life in California.
